What we do, and what you do

You give us the details of your work and upload a copy. We prepare the application and file it with the U.S. Copyright Office for you, within 2-3 business days of a complete order.

The application asks you to certify that the authorship and ownership facts in it are true. That certification is yours: you, not us, certify authorship and ownership, and we never certify on your behalf.

How long does registration take?

Our 2-3 business days is the time to submit your application. The Copyright Office then examines the claim on its own timetable, which the Office sets and which is typically measured in months. We do not control or speed up the examination.

Refund policy

If we haven't yet filed your registration with the Copyright Office, we offer a full refund. Once filed, refunds are not available because the government filing fee is non-refundable. If there is an issue preventing us from filing, we will contact you and offer a full refund. See the full refund policy.

Frequently asked

How much does the Copyright Office charge?
The U.S. Copyright Office charges $45 to file a single work by one author electronically, $65 for a standard application, and $35 to $95 for group registrations, depending on the group type. Our $149 single-work and $249 group prices include that government fee. Fees may change as early as Nov 12, 2026.
What is a group registration?
A group registration covers several related works, such as a set of photographs, the songs on one album or a batch of unpublished works by the same author, in one application with one government fee. Each group option has its own eligibility rules. Our group service is $249, government fee included.
How long does it take?
We prepare and file your application within 2-3 business days of a complete order. After that, the U.S. Copyright Office examines the claim on its own timetable, which is set by the Office and typically measured in months. Your registration's effective date is the day the Office receives the complete application.
Do you guarantee registration?
No. The U.S. Copyright Office examines every claim and decides whether to register it. We prepare and file the application for you, but no filing service can promise the outcome.
What do I need to provide?
The work's title and type, the author or authors, the claimant (the person or company that owns the copyright), the year the work was created, whether and when it was published, and a deposit copy of the work.
